AAC Tennis Action of the Weekend in Tigers Finish 2-1

MEMPHIS, Tenn.. – The 37th-ranked Memphis Tiger men’s tennis squad competed in Dallas over the weekend, going 2-1 in a trio of American Athletic Conference matches.

The Tigers (12-5) defeated both Wichita State and Temple by 4-2, before falling to No. 1. 31 SMU, 4-0.

“It was a good weekend of highly competitive conference matches,” Memphis head coach Paul Goebel said. “Our guys are competing well and looking good going into the home stretch of the season.”

With his win over Temple, freshman Pablo Alemany Malea improved to 13-0 in singles play on the year. His other two matches on the weekend were unfinished.

The Tigers have three games remaining in the regular season, traveling to Middle Tennessee Friday and hosting UCF Sunday and Tennessee State next Saturday, April 16.
