Bloomsburg at Men’s Tennis Earns Road Win

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 11, 2022) – The Morgan State men’s tennis team defeated the Bloomsburg Huskies, 6-1, in a non-conference action Monday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.

The Bears improved to 8-6 overall, while Bloomsburg fell to 3-10.

Morgan picked up the doubles point and never looked back, building a 5-0 lead before the Huskies finally got the scoreboard when Albert Martin took down Makkijha Brown 6-2, 6-2 on Court 2.

Niles Rachal, The reigning MEAC rookie of the week, followed by his win column. The freshman pulled out a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Fernando Barros on court 3. Rachal went 9-2 in singles action and won his last seven matches.

Morgan’s top doubles pair secured the initial point with ease. Rhajzon Rankins and Niles Rachal won 6-1 against Vini Moura and Chaitanya Choudhary. Rankin and Rachal improved their doubles record to 10-3 for the season. Mikeal Carpenter and Nihit Rawal Record a 6-1 win against Robin Luetzig and Albert Martin.on court 1.
