In the ongoing LaLiga season, Seville will host Real Madrid on Monday, April 18 at 12:30 pm (IST) at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Real Madrid will resume their The League title defense, with a 12-point lead over second-placed Barcelona. Sevilla have stumbled in recent weeks after a strong start to the 2021-22 season, dropping points in four of their previous five games to drop to third place in the La Liga points table, behind Barcelona.

With 60 points, Sevilla are currently in the third position in LaLiga. In the 31 games they’ve played so far this season, they’ve won 16, drew 12, and lost three. After a solid start to the 2021-22 season, Sevilla have slipped in recent weeks, surrendering points in four of their past five games to slide to the third position in the La Liga points standings, behind Barcelona.

The Andalusian giants defeated Granada 4-2 in their previous match, and they will aim to repeat the same this weekend. Sevilla has a fantastic team, but their confidence is low, therefore their supporters will be expecting a big showing from their team at home.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, is now in first place in LaLiga with 72 points. In the 31 games they’ve played so far this season, they’ve won 22, drew 6, and lost three. Real Madrid is currently 12 points ahead of Barcelona in second place.

Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 5-4 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League earlier this month and will be confident going into this match. Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior have been outstanding so far and will want to continue their good form in this match.

Real Madrid has a strong record against Sevilla, having won 33 of the 53 games between the two teams, compared to Sevilla’s 16 wins. Sevilla have lost their last six games against Real Madrid, their worst run against the Spanish giants since a 15-game losing streak in 2003.
