No. 35 Seminoles Top Boston College, 4-3

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ( – Play and sing doubles singles and doubles in Florida State’s Kiana Motosono and Lesedi Jacobs-acquired victories. 35 Scott Speicher Tennis Complex at Women’s Tennis at 35 Seminoles Defeated Boston College, 4-3. The Seminoles won the double victories with two doubles points, and won the first three singles matches to win their fourth consecutive victory over the Eagles. Florida State has won six of its last seven games at Virginia Tech on March 20.

Florida State is now 13-8 overall and 6-6 in ACC play. The Eagles are 4-13 overall and 2-13 in the ACC.

Sophia Edwards and Hailey Wilcox of Boston College over a 6-3 doubles victory over Vic Allen with a win over Montosono on her day. She followed her doubles victory with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win over the Eagles’ Stephanie Sanchez.

Boston College of Sanchez and Plobrung Pilpuech over a 6-4 win with the Seminoles for the doubles point clinched by Jacobs and Olympe Lancelot. For the second consecutive game, Jacobs earned a 6-4, 6-5 win over Boston College of Natasha Irani in a singles playoff match. Jacobs also won the game clinching victory over Florida State’s 4-3 victory over Notre Dame last Sunday.

Senior Petra Hule, the nation’s No. 7 ranked singles player, defeated Marice Aguiar by a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 score to gain her 14th win her last 15 matches. Her record is 19-1 in singles play this spring with wins coming in 11 of her 12 ACC games.

“Grabbing another win in this league feels fantastic,” said Seminole Head Coach Jen Hyde. “The goal every game day is to get four points and find another way of getting that done, again today. It was a solid three and a half hours for the net on both sides of the court. ”

Florida State closes out its regular season as it plays host to Senior Day on Sunday in Syracuse. Hyde and her staff will honor caregivers of Hule and Jacobs at a special pregame ceremony.

“We are excited to celebrate Sedi and Petra on our Senior Day,” said Hyde. “We are going to have a special Easter Egg Hunt for all our fans. We’re looking forward to playing one of our great fans this weekend. ”
