North Davidson girls basketball coach Katelyn Frazier stepping down

Mid-Piedmont Conference Coach of the Year Katelyn Frazier, who led the North Davidson girls’ basketball to the Final Four in state playoffs this season, has announced that she is stepping down.

Frazier wrote on Twitter last week: “This was a very difficult decision that I have cried many tears over but I am very excited for what’s to come in the future.”

She went on to say that she’ll begin working towards her Master of School Administration degree in August and thanked players, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff and community members “for welcoming me with open arms.”

Frazier, a Ledford High graduate who played basketball for the Panthers before injuries ended her career, joined the jayvee staff of her high school coach John Ralls, an eight-time state championship-winning coach in girls’ basketball, golf and softball, while she was still in college.
