Continuing to make progress in the recruiting class for 2023, Arizona Football has received a commitment from three-star Inglewood safety, Justin Johnson.
The 2022 Arizona Football season is still months away, and already the Wildcats are off to a hot start on the recruiting trail, picking up another commit, this time from three-star Southern California safety, Justin Johnson.
Making news via social media on Monday afternoon, the standout Inglewood High School athlete announced his commitment to the Wildcats, just days after visiting Arizona’s campus.
Picking the Wildcats over offers from Michigan State, Florida State, and Colorado State among others, the three-star safety joins the 2023 Arizona recruiting class along with fellow commits that include three-star corner, Canyon Moses, and four-star quarterback, Brayden Sleep.
Helping to bolster the defensive secondary for Arizona Football, overall, Justin Johnson is a solid pick-up for the Wildcats.
Coming in, Justin is a Top 1,000 player in the country, ranking No. 812 overall. He is considered to be the No. 68 overall player for his position and is the No. 79 overall player from the talent-rich state of California.
Hailing from the talented Inglewood High School (Inglewood, CA), Justin will come to Tucson with an opportunity to compete for playing time and should help provide immediate depth to a position of need.
Heading into his senior season, this is a kid that is poised for a potentially big jump both physically and athletically. He currently stands an impressive 6-feet-2-inches and 185 pounds (according to his 247Sports profile), and he also has a great opportunity to fill out his frame as well.
Justin projects to be a potentially bigger safety, and he has great range in his coverage, with good overall skills in reacting to and attacking the football. He plays fast and physical, and he doesn’t shy away from contact, even if it means running downhill and providing run support.
